Share our city! Share our America! We're looking for Host Families for the 2024-25 school year for our exchange students. Program for Academic eXchange, PAX, places students from over 70 different countries into American households.
Students are between the ages of 15-18yrs old and have taken at least 3 years of English
Host families only need to provide a bed, a place to study and 3 meals a day. And of course a welcome and warm home environment. PAX students are eager to join in the community and part of their requirement while in the states is to find ways to give back to the community through volunteer opportunities
PAX needs Host families for any of the 3 reasons:
1) Welcome family - Host for up to the first 8 weeks a student is in country, then the student transfers to a permanent host family
2) Emergency family - Host when a student may need a temporary home due to an emergency situation
3) Permanent family - Host for the full duration of a student's time in the states (one semester or a full school year)
Questions? Please contact Elizabeth Masterson at (317)408-6157, or visit https://pax.org/families

Happy Flag Day, New Castle! On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the "Stars and Stripes" as the original American flag. The same flag was used when the Declaration of Independence was signed to give a flag for the entire country rather than each state having their own.
