Bastian Solutions’ Steel Donation to NCCC
The New Castle Career Center (NCCC) recently received a generous gift from Bastian Solutions, based in Greenfield. They donated over $24,000 worth of steel to support the Welding, Machine Trades, and Engineering programs.
Thanks to this donation, students will gain valuable hands-on experience while learning practical skills that prepare them for the future workforce.
The delivery itself was a community effort. Thanks to the support of James Armacost and Trivett Contracting, who coordinated logistics and provided a forklift to unload the material, the steel arrived safely at our Career Center. Their contribution ensured that the steel could benefit the students and instructors at NCCC.
“This donation helps keep Career Center costs down,” explained Machine Trades Instructor Jim Feltz. “Our students will use the material to build projects such as parallels, stop blocks, hammers, and screw jacks.”
While Machine Trades students are still finishing their OSHA 10 and shop safety training before starting their projects, the Welding program is ready. Welding Instructor Ronnie Perrin shared, “Welding plans to use a portion of the material to build a suitable rack to hold all of it."
This donation reflects an investment in education and the future workforce. It will give students the opportunity to practice, create, and problem-solve. Our instructors also play a crucial role— their dedication leaves a lasting impact in every class and project.
On behalf of our students, teachers, and the entire NCCC community, we sincerely thank Bastian Solutions, James Armacost, and Trivett Contracting. Together, we’re not just building projects; we’re building futures.
